Under the hood, the 2022 Kona is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with all-wheel drive. This T-GDI Gamma II engine delivers responsive acceleration and confident passing power on the highway, making it well-suited for both daily commutes through Riverside County and weekend getaways to the desert or mountains. The all-wheel-drive system provides enhanced traction in wet weather and on unpaved roads, giving families in Beaumont and Banning added peace of mind during winter months or when exploring off the beaten path.

The Kona's compact footprint makes it easy to park and maneuver in tight spaces, yet it offers surprisingly generous cargo capacity for weekend gear, groceries, or sports equipment. The elevated seating position provides excellent visibility, while the cabin layout keeps controls within easy reach. The Black interior is both practical and stylish, resisting visible wear while maintaining a clean, modern appearance that complements the Thunder Gray exterior.

This 2022 Kona is ideal for first-time SUV buyers, small families, young professionals, or anyone who wants the utility of an SUV without the bulk of a larger vehicle. It fits comfortably in urban environments like Hemet and Calimesa while offering the capability to handle light trails and mountain roads near Idyllwild. The all-wheel-drive system makes it a smart choice for drivers who occasionally encounter rain, snow, or unpaved surfaces but don't need the heavy-duty capability of a full-size SUV.
